Advisory Services

We are here to work with you. We encourage Harvard librarians and archivists in particular, as well as all members of the Harvard community seeking advice about collections care, conservation, or preservation reformatting (digitization, microfilming, photography) to contact any of our program officers.

Preservation Program Officer, Weissman Preservation Center

Through consulting, education and training, research, and project coordination, Jane Hedberg provides expert preservation advice and assistance in a manner that extends the in-house capabilities of the libraries in harmony with their varying nature, scope, and goals. Contact Jane to discuss:

• emergency preparedness and response,
• care and handling of library materials,
• environmental monitoring, and
• techniques in and coordination of collections condition surveys.

HCL Librarian for Collections Digitization

Maggie Hale facilitates project nomination, planning, and coordination for digitization projects that draw from the collections of the Harvard College Library. Maggie also serves as a primary community liaison for HCL Imaging Services, the major provider of text and image digitization services for the Harvard Libraries.
